About us

"Love one another" (John 13:34) is the commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ. This site is designed to assist Christians in the greater Durban area to fulfill this commandment by advertising local businesses that are majority owned or managed by Christians.

The inspiration for this site came from an appeal at church to help some of those present in the service who were struggling in their businesses, or who were between jobs. Naturally, I want to use fellow Christian business people for goods and services in my everyday life where possible, but I often don't know who they were, even though I may sit next to them every Sunday. I hope that this web site will bring us closer as a Christian community as we get to Know and be Know in Him.

Relationship is a very important part of our lives and our relationships in the community usually determines our success. This is why networking is so important and for some reason Christians do not seem to be very good at it. Many different ethnic and religious groups are very successful at networking and has often been their survival in getting established in a new community. The writer of Hebrews, in Heb 10:25 urges us to 'Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.'  Hopefully this site will bring us a bit closer together and increase our 'assembling together'.

The 'News' page will be used to list Christian Business events that happen in the greater Durban area from time to time. If you are the organiser of an event, please e-mail me and I will endeavour to list your event on the News page.
 
I will shortly be adding a section to the web page to cover Employment - Employment offered and Employment wanted. Again these pages will be only for use by Christians.
 
At the moment the business adverts are listed at no charge. A nominal charge may be introduced in the future and more sophisticated banner and full page adverts will be offered to advertisers at a charge.
 
All users of the web site are encouraged to e-mail me and give comments on their experience of the goods and services provided by the businesses listed here. It is important that business people receive feedback on their service both good and bad. If we receive a number of bad reports about a certain business, we will investigate the complaint and if the problem cannot be satisfactorily corrected, the advert will be removed from our listing. This is to ensure a minimum standard of Christian business ethic in our advertisers. Hence your feedback is important to all the users of this facility.
